What are omnimodels?

A standard Hodgkin–Huxley parameterization of voltage‑gated channels.

  • x∞(V): sigmoid (optionally scaled/offset)
  • τ(V): flexible 4‑term thermodynamic form

Why it matters: compare channels by parameters, swap mechanisms across neuron models, and infer channel properties from standard protocols.

Accuracy & limits

  • Scope: HH voltage‑gated (K, Na, Ca, Ih, KCa). No Markov/metabotropic here.
  • Temperature handling is heterogeneous across legacy models; in our extractions: 49 % show τ temperature dependence; 12 % show conductance Q₁₀.
  • Some originals use non‑sigmoidal or discontinuous functions; those may show higher deviations (we flag them).
